Dr Thorp, originally from Chicago USA, has been in Australia for 25 years.

He has been a proud Australian citizen for 20 years.

Dr Thorp is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

After graduating from the Australian National University (ANU) in Canberra, Dr Thorp settled on the Fraser Coast and has called it home ever since.

Dr Thorp enjoys spending time with his family, woodworking and walking his dogs.

His medical interests are Skin Cancer Medicine, and Preventative Health. He has certificates in both skin cancer medicine and skin cancer surgery from the University of Queensland.

He divides his time between regular GP work and skin cancer surgery and is the only doctor at Pialba GP who prescribes Medicinal Cannabis.

He is non-traditionally handsome and writes his own bios.
